- Responsibilities:
- Safely walk and exercise dogs of various breeds and sizes in all weather conditions, adhering to established routes, behavior, and schedules.
- Maintain control of dogs to ensure their safety and that of others in public spaces.
- Follow specific care instructions and accommodate any special needs or requests from clients.
- Reinforce basic training using positive reinforcement techniques during walks as required.
- Keep track of key information such as feeding schedules, behavior changes, and health concerns
- Promptly report any incidents, issues, or concerns to management.
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards for dogs during walks.
- Interact professionally and courteously with clients and the public.
- Scoop litter boxes, feed, check water, play with or pet cats when appropriate.
- Additional Pay Opportunities:
- Holidays: Earn extra compensation for working on holidays, reflecting our commitment to client needs during peak times.
- Requirements:
- Genuine passion for dogs and experience handling dogs in a professional capacity (preference will be given to those with doggy daycare/boarding and dog walking experience).
- Basic knowledge of dog behavior and body language.
- Physical capability to handle walking, bending, and lifting associated with the role.
- Dependability, punctuality, and strong time management skills.
- Effective communication skills and ability to follow instructions closely.
- Ability to adapt to a changing schedule.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a cohesive team.
- Must possess a smartphone for communication and scheduling purposes.
- Must have a personal vehicle with a clean driving record, valid driver's license, and proof of insurance to transport dogs as needed.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- CPR/First Aid Certification (training provided as necessary).
- Previous experience in dog training, pet sitting, veterinary assistance, or professional animal care is required.
